uploading to picasa web albums

After my bad experience with zoto, I decided to switch to picasa web albums. The only inconvenient thing about those was lack of possibilities to upload pictures conveniently (from command line). Now this issue is covered. Several options are listed in this post, I used upload2picasa script and it works great.

one more easy backup option

Recently i wrote about importance of backups. With time this importance only raises ;) . Here’s one great service named “ewedrive” which gives you 1GB of space which is conveniently accessible from any (major) os, which is the way ALL the web services should behave. (I really hate IE-only sites).
After short registration, you’ll have two ways to access your virtual hard drive - via web interface or via WebDav protocol (here’re configuration instructions). On Linux, it can be done from konqueror, nautilus, cadaver or just mount it as regular disk using DavFS. A lot of links to other applications are here. When mounted, just rsync probably is a good idea to use for ensuring your backups are up to date.
